CATAMARAN EXCURSIONS EAST COAST MAURITIUS
Embarking on our catamarans means sailing with peace of mind and in complete safety, for young and old alike.
On the West or East coasts , we invite you to discover the pleasures of the Indian Ocean in the Mauritian lagoon, protected from the swell and currents by the coral reef. On board, passenger comfort and safety are our top priorities at all times.
Each of our boats is equipped with all the required safety equipment, according to the standards established by the Tourism Authority and international standards. Impeccable navigation equipment, safety rails, life jackets, and more are all items that meet the most stringent requirements.
The East Coast - Trou d'eau Douce
L'Ile aux cerfs
It's 9:00 a.m. in Trou d'Eau Douce. The village is bustling, especially near the lime kiln, a historic relic. The last fishermen are bringing in their catches while the boat crews are transporting their gear onto their outboard motors. Another day at sea lies ahead.
Away from this entertainment, the crew welcomes you with a broad smile to begin your cruise in complete serenity.
A few minutes after departure, the landscape changes rapidly.
Against a backdrop of volcanic mountains, try to spot the Cat and Mouse peaks, unmissable landmarks on the East Coast. On an islet, you'll spot Shangri-La's Le Touessrok, a five-star hotel prized by international celebrities for its prestigious character.
Further on, two other superb hotels; Anahita & Four Seasons.
Offshore, azure blue and turquoise blend into the landscape as far as the horizon. Listen to the waves gently lapping against the hull and take a breath of fresh air. Enjoy the exceptional panorama, under the tropical sun, a cool drink in hand, as the boat glides gently toward the Grande Rivière Sud Est (GRSE) waterfall.

Take a shuttle that will take you straight to the waterfall, where the white-tailed tropicbirds fly over it.
On some days, you can see young people from nearby villages jumping from the waterfall and wading in the bubbling waters.
The waterfall is modest, but the surrounding flora is reminiscent of a rainforest, with trees and plants covering the shores.
Along the way, keep your eyes peeled for bats and monkeys hidden in the vegetation!
Then it's time to answer the call of the ocean: dive into the crystal-clear waters of the lagoon and snorkel around the coral patches, populated by tiny fish, such as the elongated-nosed trumpetfish or the white-finned bannerfish. Swim under the watchful eye of the crew, who will equip you with a life jacket or buoy if you're not comfortable in the water.
Back on board, where the grilling has begun in preparation for lunch, which promises to be most appetizing: fresh fish and chicken grilled to perfection, served with several salads accompanied by garlic bread.
A succulent menu, attentive service, and breathtaking scenery—this is what gives the term “paradise vacation” its full meaning.

Next stop: the famous eastern islet known as Ile aux Cerfs. The catamaran glides through a mangrove forest, an ideal nursery for the surrounding marine species. Try to spot the tiny sunfish or the Trou Loulou crab, bright red and visible at low tide between the roots. Ile aux Cerfs is unique in many ways: in the low season, the islet is an idyllic, deserted beach facing calm, shallow waters that are safe even for young children. The more adventurous will explore further on foot to find hidden coves on the other side of the island, where small tidal pools are home to shellfish and sea urchins. But be aware that in high season, the islet can attract many boats and visitors.
In any case, on a sunny day, Ile aux Cerfs is worth a stopover, for a spot of sunbathing or a walk after lunch.
The day ends as well as it began: with favorable winds, the sails will bring the catamaran back to the main island. Relax at the bow of the catamaran with a final refreshing drink. Sun-drenched and happy with this day full of invigorating experiences, enjoy a few more moments of the magnificent beauty of the east coast...
